CPBC events 2005 - 2006

 

Despite the challenges faced in 2005/2006, CPBC is very proud to have completed another successful year.

The Trade Mission which was scheduled twice had to be postponed due to the Earthquake and the unrests. However, we still managed to have several successful events. The highlights of the activities for the period July 1st, 2005 to June 30th, 2006 are outlined below:

  • August. 2005:        Participated in an exhibition organized by CME
  • September 2005:    Dinner and Entertainment at Ramada: "An Evening with Spouses"
  • September 2005:    Luncheon in honour of Habib Bank, Pakistan
  • September 2005:    Dinner in honour of the Governor of State Bank of Pakistan
  • November 2005:     Held CPBC's Annual dinner. Raised donations for
                               Pakistan's Earthquake victims
  • December 2005:     CBPC's members participated in the Dinner event hosted by Sri- -------------------Lanka Business Council. The keynote speaker was the Premier of -------------------Ontario.
  • February 2006:       Luncheon in honour of Canadian High Commissioner, H.E. David ---------------------Collins
  • February 2006:      CBPC's members participated in the luncheon hosted by AM-CHAM
  • March 2006:          CPBC hosted a "Meet & Greet" reception at the Toronto Cricket -------------------Club
  • March 2006:          Board of Trade honoured CPBC's sponsors at the "Meet the
                              Champions" event
  • April 2006:            Dinner in honour of Hon.John Tory, Leader of the Opposition of --------------------the Government of Ontario
  • April 2006:            CPBC's members participated in the Luncheon hosted by CPBC's 
                              partner, Royal Commonwealth Advantage
  • May 2006:            Celebration of "South Asia Heritage Month". The chief guest was
                              Hon. Mike Colle, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration,  Ontario
  • June 2006:            CPBC awarded "Essay Scholarships" at the Empire Club event
  • June 2006:            CPBC celebrated its 23rd Anniversary and paid tribute to ---------------------------Canadian Cricket Association by donating $5000.00
In addition, Andy Merchant spoke at York University and at the Markham Chamber of Commerce about CPBC's activities and the Council's role in promoting Trade.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank all the members and sponsors for their continued support. As we move forward, we have many high-profiled events  in store and with your help I'm looking forward to further enhance the image and raise the bar of the Council.
